Project Manager

Cogent Energy, Inc., an established and progressive energy consulting, engineering and commissioning firm, has an opening in its Concord office for a motivated mechanical engineer with seven or more years of experience in supporting utilities and third-parties with their energy efficiency programs. The candidate’s responsibilities would include:
 

  • Project Management of Utility client and Third-Party client projects involving various combinations of the following, delivered within the commercial, institutional, industrial, and agricultural market segments:
    • energy and demand audits
    • energy and demand analysis
    • due-diligence technical review
    • new construction energy efficiency analysis
    • energy efficiency technology research
    • Retro-commissioning
  • Site visits for collecting data from institutional, commercial, industrial, and agricultural facilities.
  • Monitoring key parameters of building and process systems
  • Analysis of energy efficiency measures
  • Organizing and writing reports
  • Managing project schedules and budgets
  • Managing client relationships and communication
  • Invoicing and related project activities
The successful candidate shall have the ability to clearly communicate thoughts and concepts in writing and orally. Candidate shall be a self starter and have the ability to manage tasks and assignments with little direct supervision. Candidate shall have at least a Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a well rounded understanding of energy efficiency measure application in commercial building systems as well as industrial and process systems. Expertise with Excel is required and experience with Word, building simulation programs, macro programming, and AutoCAD is desirable. P.E is preferred.
