CSU Sacramento selects Cogent Energy as Commissioning Authority for New Campus Recreation and Student Housing Centers

CSU-Sacramento
Cogent Energy is acting as Commissioning Authority on behalf of CSU Sacramento for its new Recreation Center consisting of the $7 million Broad Athletic Training Facility and the $50 million Recreation Wellness Center. Cogent Energy is also the Commissioning Authority for the planned $37 million Student Housing facility. The University is applying to certify the Recreation Wellness Center and Student Housing facilities with a LEED Silver rating with the U.S. Green Building Council.
Cogent Energy’s services are spanning the entire design, construction and warranty phases including review of the owner’s project requirements and design intent; reviewing the schematic, design development and construction document packages and contractor submittals for conformance to the owner’s requirements while optimizing system efficiency. As Commissioning Authority we also developed the project commissioning specifications and prepared the Commissioning Plan, and the Pre-functional and Functional Performance Test procedures. We will oversee system start-ups and functional performance tests and perform post occupancy testing prior to expiration of warranties.
