San Jose State University saves $107,000 per year at Martin Luther King, Jr.
Library through Retrocommissioning

Cogent Energy provided monitoring-based commissioning services to San Jose State University for the highly-acclaimed Martin Luther King Jr. Library, a joint project between the University and the City of San Jose. The project was performed under the 2004–2005 UC/CSU/IOU Energy Partnership Program. Though the building was designed to outperform Title 24 by 20%, the commissioning team, comprised of both Cogent Energy engineers and University staff, was able to reduce energy consumption in the building by 715,000 kWh per year, or 9% of the total building energy consumption.
