UC Davis Selects Cogent Energy as its Campus-wide Monitoring Based Commissioning Provider

UC Davis
UC Davis has selected Cogent Energy as the campus MBCx provider to the University of California at Davis under the UC/ CSU/IOU Partnership Program. Under a three-year contract, Cogent Energy is expected to perform MBCx projects for over a dozen campus buildings under the 2006-2008 Energy Partnership Program. Cogent Energy recently performed a campus MBCx benchmarking study where we prioritized the top 20 buildings for MBCx and retrofit potential.
We have also performed a campus-wide fume hood study and several building-specific engineering studies in support of the campus’s MBCx and retrofit goals. As a result of these efforts UC Davis is implementing ten monitoring based commissioning projects consisting of 1,200,000 sq. ft. The University is also planning to implement retrofit projects totaling $1,400,000.
Studies Performed:
  • Campus-wide Building Benchmarking Study
  • Campus-wide Fume Hood Study
  • Chemistry and Chemistry-Annex complex retrofit evaluation
  • Tupper Hall Study for retrofit and retrocommissioning opportunities
  • Briggs Hall energy baseline evaluation and assessment
  • Variable speed chiller replacement at Life Sciences Addition
  •  Automatic Fume Hood Sash closure pilot project
  • Bodega Bay Marine Laboratory retrocommissioning assessment
  • Campus-wide lighting retrofit assessment
