Distributed Generation
Distributed generation is the on-site production of electricity at a customer facility. Practical applications of distributed generation plants include cogeneration, where both electricity and thermal energy are produced and used onsite, and photo-voltaic systems, where electricity is produced from sunlight.
More and more of our clients are turning towards distributed generation as an alternative to purchasing electricity from their local utility. Distributed generation projects can be economically beneficial, provide a redundant power source in the event of utility black outs, and provide an environmentally friendly alternative to utility-purchased electricity.
Cogent Energy supports owners and developers alike with the development, analysis, installation, financing, operation and maintenance of distributed generation projects. Cogent Energy can also assist owners in obtaining substantial financial incentives which can cut the project cost in half.
